Description

The appeal of the classic Royal in sakasa form: peacock and a red band on the body, brown hackle. A highly visible attractor for lively water.

The Sakasa Kebari is the iconic tenkara fly: the forward-facing hackle opens and closes with every pull of the line, giving the fly a pulsing action that trout find hard to ignore. Fish it on the surface, just below it or in mid-water with short, rhythmic pulses.

Materials

  • Hook: Straight-eye kebari hook, barbless
  • Thread: Black 8/0 tying thread
  • Body: Peacock herl with a red silk centre band
  • Hackle: Brown hen
